OUR STORY

In the spring of 2017, Jimmy began working at Rose Creek Golf Club in Edmond, OK as an assistant golf professional.  During that time, Jimmy began his teaching career with the local juniors and members.  The one golfer who has influenced Jimmy the most in the game of golf is Ben Hogan.  Out of his admiration of the Texan, Jimmy honored Ben Hogan by naming his Academy: House 53, A Golf Academy.  The "53" is in reference to Hogan's banner year of 1953.

From one or two students in the early months of 2017, by August of 2017, Jimmy was conducting 20 lessons a week, and a weekly junior clinic each month.  That September, Jimmy also became the head golf coach at Deer Creek High School in Edmond, OK.  Being the Head Golf Coach at Deer Creek gave Jimmy another perspective to teaching the game of golf, the coaching aspect of the game.

In the summer of 2018, Jimmy hosted his first summer camp: Camp Elite 1.0.  During this camp, Jimmy ran daily clinics, on course instruction, and during the evenings, he hosted a presentation with Deborah Graham of Golfpsych for the mental game; a seminar on Physical Fitness and Nutrition (Jimmy was a certified Personal Trainer through ACE); a Q&A between the campers and  Ian Baker-Finch; and a presentation by a panel of college golf coaches, led by Hall of Fame coach, Mike McGraw, on what it takes to attain a college scholarship.

In December 2018, Jimmy took a position of Assistant Golf Professional at The Carolina Country Club (TCCC) in Spartanburg, SC, where he also became the Director of Instruction in May of 2019.  In September 2019, Jimmy wrote the curriculum for a junior development program at TCCC.  In July 2020, Jimmy began teaching independently at the Brad Sill Golf Center, fully utilizing swing analysis technology from V1 Sports and SPortsbox.ai, a Pressure Mat by Boditrak, and Full Swing Launch Monitoring.

Through all of Jimmy's experiences in his early days of teaching, coaching, running Camp Elite 1.0, developing the Junior development program at TCCC, and his teaching since leaving TCCC, Jimmy has evolved, refined, and furthered his ability to improved a player's game to the fullest.  Jimmy's House 53 Performance Academy is the culmination of the last 35 years of competitive golf (1997 USGA Junior Amateur, consistent All-Conference Collegiate golfer, and professionally), and the last 6 years of instructing and coaching players of all levels.  This is just the beginning!
