A Bit About Me

DJ Freese is the Recruiting & Performance Coordinator at House 53 Performance Academy, where he plays a pivotal role in guiding athletes toward college golf opportunities and measurable competitive progress. A collegiate golfer at Erskine College and Columbia College (2020–2026) and a former Player Assistant at Erskine (2023–2025), DJ combines firsthand competitive experience with deep knowledge of the recruiting landscape. As a longtime student of Jimmy Shaw, he understands the House 53 system from the athlete’s perspective and uses that insight to help players navigate performance tracking, tournament scheduling, and the expectations of college programs.

DJ has played a key role in helping athletes earn college placements, contributing to House 53’s growing total of 19 collegiate signees. He specializes in aligning a player’s development plan with the metrics and patterns college coaches look for, using a data-driven approach to build clear, individualized recruiting pathways. Whether preparing athletes for high-level events, communicating with college coaches, or managing season-long performance trends, DJ brings a steady, analytical, and player-centered presence that helps House 53 athletes stay focused, prepared, and confident as they pursue their next competitive level.
